About the event

Dave Edmond, Eddie Engram, and Carl Tennenbaum are all experienced law enforcement officers who would each bring a distinct background and vision to the Sheriff’s Office. Our County Sheriff has multiple responsibilities. Two topics in this race are management of the County Jail which has had issues regarding inmate treatment and how the incoming Sheriff would work with the oversite board approved by local voters.

It is informative to see who has endorsed each of the three candidates:

Dave Edmonds served many years with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department. After retirement, Mr. Edmonds founded and directs two national law enforcement teaching nonprofits. Among his endorsers are County Supervisor Susan Gorin and Windsor City Councilmember Debra Fudge.

Assistant Sheriff Eddie Engram has served almost two decades as a Sonoma County Deputy. Upon promotion to Assistant Sheriff, Engram’s purview expanded to include the Detention Division and all Detention-related services. Among his endorsements are the County Deputy Sheriff Association and Congressmember Mike Thompson.

Carl Tennenbaum has been a lifelong public servant and served 32 years in the San Francisco Police Department before retiring to Sonoma County. He is endorsed by Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and Santa Rosa Vice Mayor Natalie Rodgers.

The Forum is cosponsored by the Oakmont Democratic Club. The Sonoma County Democratic Party had endorsed Kevin Burke who dropped out of the race. As of this writing there is no endorsed Democratic candidate.

The 7PM meeting will be preceded by a Social starting at 6:30 PM.  Again, all Oakmonters are welcome.
